Discovery House

This house was designed for a specific client with a large family. To take advantage of the tremendous views and beautiful oak trees that surround the site, the rear of the house incorporates large expanses of North facing glass. The floor plan is extremely efficient with virtually no hallways and several flex rooms that could function as art or dance studios, home offices, a media room, or in-law quarters. Outside, the plan forms several courtyards and outdoor living spaces that include a negative edge pool and fire pit. Some sustainable strategies were used in designing the house including radiant floors, a solar system to offset 60% of the yearly usage, and high ventilating windows to capture evening breezes and cool the house.
